I love a nice flowery headdress, it makes me feel all summery and a little bit like I belong in the sixties, all that flower power.
They really do make a nice compliment to a bridal party, no not necessarily on the groom but hey it could work. Always very popular with young flower girls using a variation of flowers. A simple headdress made from Gypsophila can be just perfect for very young bridesmaids as its light and not too much fuss.
They can also be made from fresh flowers or like here, pictured in artificial flowers too. If getting married abroad these will remain perfect on the way to your destination, will keep vibrant right through the ceremony and as a keepsake afterwards. I have seen a lot of the the dainty headdresses worn at a lot of festivals too recently, so we can produce nice little daisy chain rings to pop on while enjoying your favourite music.
So many events where you can wear a headdress…..so get in touch…..they can be made big or small with you favourites flowers in any colour so what you waiting for hippy chicks…..go for it!
It was lovely to be able to make these wedding car ribbons in an ivory organza fabric and an artificial ivory rose. The leaves were placed behind the rose and included diamonte decorations.
The bow pictured on the left is a smaller bow for the door handles with ribbon and a suction cup for securing onto the vehicle. The bow on the right is the main ribbon for the front of the car again with ribbon and suction cup if needed to secure onto the vehicle.
These can be produced in any colour and really compliment any wedding.
I felt a bit creative and had a little time to produce a couple of artificial bridal bouquets which I love to do.
I used pink and ivory roses in the top one with a little stephanotis and eucalyptus in there too. I tied this with a hessian bow but this can be changed to a colour which any bride prefers and to match her colour scheme.
The second bouquet consists of white roses and daises with some eucalyptus again. I’m not usually a big fan of creating flowers in white but I do quite like this. The yellow centres of the daisies set it off quite nicely with an added gold organza ribbon. This ribbon can be changed as well to suit the needs of the bride if required.
I’ll be posting some more very soon but if you are interested in artificial bouquets for your wedding day please do get in touch as I’d be happy to create something wonderful for your special day.
Is this your year? Are you making the jump to matrimonial bliss? You may be needing some flowers then. It’s an exciting time but also can be stressful unless you have some good people who you can go to for information and to help you make those important choices.
As a bride and groom you are the focus of your special day, everything else just compliments you as a couple and the beautiful commitment you are about to make to each other.
Your florist should be there from start to finish, advising you along the way of colours that would blend with your theme, flowers which would suit your day and most of all listen to you, a good florist won’t just sell you flowers they will sell you part of your dream.
I remember being a bride in waiting, I did all the planning for my wedding and absolutely loved it. I was so lucky to be able to draw on the experience of friends around me who were so talented in their own fields. I had the day I’d always dreamt about so I know exactly how you feel.
So what is current for this year regarding weddings? Well the shape of bouquets are down to personal preference but also need to flow with your chosen outfits. You may be someone who likes to keep things simple and elegant or go bold and vibrant, it really is up to you. I can tell you what the chosen Pantone colour for 2018 is and that’s ‘Ultra Violet’……..
I love purple, it’s my favourite colour so I’m quite happy and it is a colour that can be blended with so many other colours making it very adaptable. It is a colour that can be injected into wedding flowers as a definite statement or subtly placed around pinks, other purples, creams and greenery to make a pastel wild ‘meadow like’ theme.
Whatever you you have in mind you can always get good advice and a friendly service here at Suzy Blues so please get in touch through my contact page and we can easily set up a consultation to discuss your ideas.
I love a request to put flowers together, hang on that’s why I’m here isn’t it? Yes but I love it. So I was excited to provide these designs to a local chauffeur service for their wedding appointments.
I made a small arrangement in artificial flowers to be placed on the parcel shelf in one of the cars and a garland for the front shelf in a mini bus. The flowers I used were ivory Lily’s, Roses and Stephanotis and I accompanied those with some green Ivy, Wisteria, and Eucalyptus.
The small arrangement can also be used for a table decoration for a wedding or event and garlands also can be used at events in many different ways. They can be twisted around candleholders or placed along the front of a top table at your wedding. They can also be made in any colour to match your preference in fresh or artificial flowers. Oh so many ideas, makes a creative brain like mine nearly burst with excitement to be honest.

These gift trees are a real treat to make. They consist of lovely roses with a diamonte pins if desired and chocolates in the pot base.
I’ve made these up in many different colours to suit and if you don’t fancy chocolates you could have a selection of bath bombs, scented candles, tea bags it’s really up to you. Also as an added touch it can be personalised.
If you’re not requiring a gift, maybe you are holding an event, well these can make an alternative table decoration. You could have one sitting in your company reception area and refill the base with treats for your customers or clients. It just goes to show there are many uses for this design.
I love looking for different ideas apart from sending fresh flowers, although the classic bouquet will always remain a bit of a favourite for me. That’s what I love about any floral design, it can be large or small, little or bursting with colour and classic or contemporary, I’ve been lucky to make many different designs.
I hope to be share more with you in the future so come back soon.
